Leicester City sign De Cordova-Reid on free transfer
Leicester City have secured the services of Bobby De Cordova-Reid, the Jamaican forward, on a free transfer after his departure from Fulham.
The 31-year-old has committed to a three-year contract. Previously, De Cordova-Reid played over 150 games during his five-year tenure at Fulham, contributing to their promotions from the Championship to the Premier League twice.
He became a free agent last month when his contract expired. This signing marks Steve Cooper’s first acquisition since taking over as manager from Enzo Maresca.
“Turning up here was a special moment, looking around and seeing the infrastructure. It’s got that wow factor. It feels nice,” De Cordova-Reid said.
“I’m delighted to be here and I can’t wait to get going.
“I had a good chat with the manager – he told me the vision of the club.
“I spoke to him a few times and he was very clear in what he wanted and what he saw in me. He believes in me and it’s a perfect fit for me.”
De Cordova-Reid started his career at Bristol City and has also represented Cheltenham, Oldham, Plymouth, and Cardiff during his career.
Last week, Leicester City, the reigning Championship winners, sold midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to Chelsea for £30 million.
