Lewandowski insists on leaving Bayern Munich

Polish football player, Robert Lewandowski who plays as a striker for Bundesliga club Bayern Munich, is insisting to leave the club this summer.

Although he still has one year left in his contract, he publicly announced his desire to leave, amid considerable interest from Barcelona.

Bayern, on the other hand, is adamant about keeping their man while he is still under contract, resulting in a media spat with the club’s hierarchy.

But, in yet another interview, Lewandowski explained the reasons for his wish to leave.

He said: “I am leaving because I want more emotions in my life. They didn’t want to listen to me until the end. Something inside me went out. And it is impossible to get over it. Even if you want to be professional, you can’t make up for it.”

“If you have been in the club for so many years, you were always ready, you were available, despite the injuries and pain you gave your best, I think it will be best to find a good solution for both sides. And not to look for a one-sided decision.

“It does not make sense. Not after this time. I would understand if I had been playing here for 2-4 years, but after such a successful path and readiness and support on my part, loyalty and respect are probably more important than business.

“What kind of player will then want to come to Bayern knowing that something like this could happen to him? Where is the loyalty and respect then?” he asked.
