Scotland international Lewis Ferguson has received the Bulgarelli Number 8 Award, which honors the best midfielder in Serie A for the season.
The Bologna captain was having an exceptional season, with his team in contention for a Champions League spot, until he sustained a season-ending knee injury in April.

Before his injury, Ferguson was a standout performer in Italy’s top league, scoring six goals and providing four assists in 31 league matches.
Past recipients of the award include Daniele De Rossi, Nicolo Barella, and Sandro Tonali.
The 24-year-old will miss this summer’s Euros in Germany due to surgery.
