Liverpool have issued more than 400 lifetime bans to individuals involved in ticket touting as the club steps up its crackdown on the illegal resale of match tickets.
Working alongside Merseyside Police, the club also helped seize assets worth more than £1.2 million linked to organised ticket touts in an operation targeting the laundering of proceeds from illicit ticket sales.
According to BBC Sport, Liverpool imposed 432 lifetime bans and 115 indefinite suspensions following the investigation into ticketing violations.
Detective Chief Inspector Nick Suffield of Merseyside Police praised the collaboration, describing it as a significant step toward protecting genuine supporters.
“This is a fantastic example of partnership working between ourselves and Liverpool Football Club for the good of the fans and the general public,” Suffield said.
He added that authorities would continue pursuing ticket touts who exploit fans trying to watch their team.
The assets recovered during the operation will be shared between Merseyside Police and the Home Office.
The latest sanctions form part of Liverpool’s broader campaign against ticket fraud. The club previously disclosed that it had shut down 145,000 ticket accounts over a two-year period in its efforts to tackle touting.
During the 2025–26 season, Liverpool reviewed nearly 700,000 ticket registrations, blocking or cancelling 67,663 suspected fake accounts, while another 121,379 accounts remain under investigation.
The club also cancelled 3,847 tickets after detecting suspicious purchasing activity and returned them to general sale, making them available to genuine supporters.
Liverpool further strengthened matchday enforcement by carrying out targeted checks at Anfield and during away fixtures to prevent entry by individuals linked to suspicious ticket activity.
According to the club, an average of 300 interventions were carried out at every home game, with similar operations conducted during Premier League and European away matches.
