Liverpool have turned down an £11.8 million offer from Marseille for midfielder Wataru Endo.
The 31-year-old Japan international joined Liverpool from Stuttgart last August for around £16.2 million on a four-year contract.
In his debut season, he made 43 appearances, including 20 starts in the Premier League, and won the League Cup.
Marseille, managed by Roberto de Zerbi—who faced Endo while at Brighton last season—are keen on securing his services.
Liverpool is also aware of interest from other German clubs in the defensive midfielder.
The Reds have yet to make any new signings this summer following the appointment of manager Arne Slot.
