Liverpool forward Diogo Jota will be sidelined until after the November international break due to a rib injury, as confirmed by manager Arne Slot.

The Portuguese striker was substituted during Liverpool’s 2-1 victory over Chelsea on October 20 following a collision with defender Tosin Adarabioyo.

Jota has missed the last two matches and has not yet returned to training.

The 27-year-old is expected to miss at least four upcoming games across all competitions, with the international break scheduled from November 11-19.

“Conor [Bradley] is training with us again so maybe he could be in the squad [for Wednesday’s trip to Brighton in the EFL Cup],” Slot said.

“Jota not, Alisson not, Harvey Elliott not and Federico [Chiesa] not.”

Asked whether Jota could return before the international break, Slot replied: “No, it will be after that. Elliott the same.”

Liverpool will also host Brighton at Anfield in the Premier League this Saturday.

Following that, the Reds are set to face Bayer Leverkusen at home in the Champions League, with Aston Villa visiting Merseyside just before the international break.

After the break, Liverpool’s first match will be an away fixture against newly-promoted Southampton on November 24.

Goalkeeper Alisson has been out for the past two weeks due to a hamstring injury, while Harvey Elliott remains sidelined with a fractured foot.

Federico Chiesa, a summer acquisition from Juventus, has made only three appearances for Liverpool this season.
