Luton Town stay in bottom three after draw against Everton

Luton Town failed to escape the Premier League relegation zone, drawing with Everton at Kenilworth Road.

Everton, already secure from relegation, took the lead through a Dominic Calvert-Lewin penalty in the 24th minute. This came after Luton’s Teden Mengi was penalized for pulling down Jarrad Branthwaite, with the penalty confirmed after VAR review.

Elijah Adebayo, in his first start since early February, quickly equalized for Luton seven minutes later. He overpowered Ashley Young and fired a low shot past Jordan Pickford.

The second half saw both teams create chances, with Luton’s goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski making key saves from Jack Harrison’s deflected shot and a header from Calvert-Lewin, but the score remained tied.

This result keeps Rob Edwards’ team in the relegation zone, on the same points as Nottingham Forest but having played one more game.
