Manchester City defender Nathan Ake was stretchered off during the Netherlands’ Nations League draw against Germany in Amsterdam.

Ake was forced off just before half-time after seemingly sustaining a hamstring injury.

The 29-year-old had recently made his first Premier League appearance of the season for Pep Guardiola’s side, coming on as a late substitute in their 3-1 win over West Ham just before the international break.

Netherlands manager Ronald Koeman stated that further tests are required to determine the extent of the injury.

“It looks like a muscle injury for Nathan, though I am not certain,” he said.

The Netherlands took an early lead just two minutes into Tuesday’s match when Tijjani Reijnders found the back of the net following a well-executed play by Liverpool’s Ryan Gravenberch.

Germany responded with Deniz Undav scoring his first international goal on his debut start, calmly finishing with a first-time strike.

Joshua Kimmich then put Germany ahead just before halftime, scoring from the back post.

However, five minutes into the second half, Denzel Dumfries leveled the score for the Netherlands with a goal from inside the box.

Germany had a late chance to win when David Raum missed a header from Kai Havertz’s cross, sending it over the bar.
