Manchester United produced a thrilling late comeback to share the points with Aston Villa in a dramatic 4-4 Premier League encounter at Old Trafford on Sunday.
The Red Devils appeared destined for defeat after falling two goals behind in the second half, but late strikes from Joshua Zirkzee and Patrick Dorgu helped them salvage a point.
Aston Villa got off to a flying start, with Alysson opening the scoring inside the first minute before Nicolas Jackson extended the visitors’ advantage in the fourth minute.
United responded through Bruno Fernandes, who converted a penalty in the 16th minute to reduce the deficit.
Youri Tielemans then restored parity for the hosts shortly before half-time, sending both teams into the break at 2-2.
Villa, however, regained the lead after the restart, with John McGinn scoring from the penalty spot in the 48th minute before Leon Goretzka added another five minutes later to put the visitors firmly in control.
With time running out, United mounted a desperate fightback. Zirkzee pulled one back in the 92nd minute, while Dorgu completed the comeback with a dramatic header in the 96th minute.
The result denied Aston Villa a victory and offered United some relief amid their difficult Premier League campaign.
Despite the spirited comeback, United remain in the relegation zone, sitting 18th in the standings after 10 matches.
The draw leaves the Manchester side with plenty of work to do as they seek to improve their league position and restore confidence among their supporters.
