Manchester United on Wednesday officially announced that Richard Arnold, the club’s chief executive, “has chosen to step down” as part of a management transition.
The confirmation was shared by Manchester United through its official X account.
“Richard Arnold has decided to step down as Chief Executive of Manchester United after 16 years at the club.”
The transition is occurring concurrently with the club’s owners concluding the sale of a minority stake to the petrochemicals billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
Richard Arnold, who has been with Manchester United for 16 years, is anticipated to offer transitional support until the conclusion of December.
