Man Utd midfielder completes Eintracht Frankfurt loan deal

Donny van de Beek, the midfielder from Manchester United, has finalized his loan transfer to Eintracht Frankfurt.

The 26-year-old is set to join the Bundesliga side for the remainder of the season, with an option to convert the transfer into a permanent arrangement.

Van de Beek, who joined Manchester United from Ajax for £35m in September 2020, has started just six Premier League matches for the club.

Manager Erik ten Hag recently suggested that the Netherlands international required a move to rejuvenate his career.

Eintracht is expected to pay United a loan fee and cover the majority of his wages. The potential permanent transfer fee is set at 11 million euros (£9.5m), with an additional 3 million euros (£2.6m) in add-ons.

Van de Beek has featured in 62 matches for United in various competitions, with two goals to his name.

Following a loan stint at Everton in 2022, he returned to United but was sidelined for the second half of the last season due to a significant knee injury.

Eintracht currently holds the sixth position in the German Bundesliga standings, trailing nine points behind the top four, and is involved in the Europa Conference League play-offs.

The Bundesliga is presently on its winter break, and Eintracht’s upcoming match is scheduled against RB Leipzig on January 13.
