Man Utd want £40m for winger Sancho this summer
Manchester United have set a £40 million price tag on their sidelined winger Jadon Sancho.
Sancho spent the second half of last season on loan at Borussia Dortmund after a fallout with manager Erik ten Hag.
The 24-year-old helped Dortmund reach the Champions League final and played nearly the entire match as the Bundesliga club performed admirably against Real Madrid before succumbing to two late goals.
It was initially thought that Sancho’s future at Old Trafford would depend on Ten Hag’s tenure, as the Dutchman is still awaiting confirmation on whether he will complete the final year of his contract.
However, BBC Sport understands that United intend to sell Sancho this summer regardless of who the manager is, and they are seeking £40 million for the England international.
Dortmund are interested in having Sancho return next season but prefer another loan deal.
United are aiming for a straight sale, mindful of Financial Fair Play (FFP) restrictions limiting their transfer funds.
Sancho, who joined United from Dortmund for £73 million in July 2021, has two years remaining on his contract.
There has been interest from European clubs, with Italy’s Juventus among those previously linked with the former Manchester City academy player.
