Man Utd’s Maguire out for ‘a few weeks’ with injury

Manchester United and England centre-back Harry Maguire has announced that he will be sidelined for “a few weeks” due to injury.

Maguire sustained the injury during the first half of United’s 0-0 draw against Aston Villa in the Premier League on Sunday. He was substituted at halftime and left Villa Park wearing a protective boot.

“Frustrated to pick up an injury at the weekend, will be a few weeks on the sideline for me but I’ll come back stronger,” Maguire posted on Instagram.

The 31-year-old was not selected for Lee Carsley’s England squad for the upcoming Nations League matches against Greece and Finland.

Maguire, who missed Euro 2024 due to a calf injury, has made nine appearances for United this season, scoring in the 3-3 Europa League draw against Porto on October 3.

Manchester United will next face Brentford at home on October 19.
