The goalkeeper for Manchester City, Ederson, is expected to be sidelined for around four weeks due to a muscle injury he suffered during Sunday’s Premier League match against Liverpool.

Ederson sustained his injury when he fouled striker Darwin Nunez, resulting in a penalty for Liverpool, which allowed them to level the score.

Despite initially continuing after receiving treatment, the Brazilian goalkeeper had to be substituted shortly afterward, with Stefan Ortega taking his place.

At 30 years old, Ederson is expected to be absent from Manchester City’s upcoming Premier League match against Arsenal on March 31st. Additionally, he will miss the FA Cup quarter-final against Newcastle this Saturday, as well as the subsequent international break.

After assessing the extent of the injury, City informed the Brazilian Football Association that Ederson would not be available for international duty.

German goalkeeper Ortega, aged 31, may also stand in for Ederson in City’s home fixture against Aston Villa on April 3rd and their away match against Crystal Palace the following Saturday.
