Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has resumed training after being sidelined for three months due to injury.
The England left-back, who last appeared for the club in February, sustained a calf injury in early August.
Although he was initially expected to return after the October international break, former manager Erik ten Hag revealed that Shaw had encountered a “setback” in his recovery.
Shaw injured his hamstring in February which ruled him out of the remainder of the last Premier League season.
However, he was selected in England’s squad for Euro 2024 and started the final defeat by Spain after missing the group phase.
Manchester United saw the return of Christian Eriksen and Mason Mount from injury in their 2-0 Europa League victory over PAOK on Thursday.
Leny Yoro, who joined from Lille this summer, is still awaiting his competitive debut after a pre-season foot fracture, though he has now resumed training.
Interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy noted that the club’s injury issues are beginning to improve.
“Christian played 30 minutes and Mason also played,” said Van Nistelrooy.
“It’s beneficial for us and I’m happy that they’re back. For the long-term absentees like Luke and Leny they are on the pitch with us.”
