Kylian Mbappe netted two goals to help Paris St-Germain hold off a spirited Brest comeback and secure a victory that lifted them to second place in Ligue 1.
Warren Zaire-Emery opened the scoring for the away team with a long-range shot in the early stages of the match, and Mbappe’s deflected goal seemed to put them in a commanding position.
Steve Mounie pulled one back for Brest with a header, and Jeremy le Douaron nodded in the equalizer.
However, Mbappe managed to slot in the winning goal late in the game after his initial penalty was saved.
Brest may find it tough luck as they appeared to be the more probable team to secure the victory, with Gianluigi Donnarumma making some pivotal saves.
This victory extends PSG’s undefeated streak in Ligue 1 to five matches and brings them within one point of the league leaders, Nice.
On the other hand, Brest currently occupies the sixth position in the league.
