Kylian Mbappe scored twice as Real Madrid overturned an early deficit to defeat Las Palmas 4-1, reclaiming the top spot in La Liga.
Fabio Silva’s close-range strike gave the visitors an unexpected lead, but Mbappe equalized from the penalty spot after Sandro Ramirez fouled Rodrygo.
Brahim Diaz put Real ahead, slotting home from Lucas Vazquez’s pass, before Mbappe added a stunning second, guiding the ball into the net for his 12th league goal of the season. Real entered halftime in full control.
Rodrygo extended the lead in the 57th minute, converting Fran Garcia’s cutback as Real Madrid maintained their dominance.
Las Palmas’ hopes of a comeback diminished when substitute Benito Ramirez was sent off following a VAR review, which upgraded his studs-up challenge on Vazquez from a yellow card to a red.
Despite having three goals disallowed for offside—including one that would have completed Mbappe’s hat-trick—and missed opportunities from Jude Bellingham, Real secured a comfortable win.
The victory puts Real Madrid two points ahead of Atletico Madrid, who suffered a loss to Leganes on Saturday.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side now shifts focus to the Champions League, hosting Red Bull Salzburg on Wednesday.
