Mohamed Salah achieved a historic feat with four goals in Egypt’s dominant 6-0 victory over Djibouti in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

At 31 years old, Salah secures his position as Egypt’s top scorer in World Cup qualifiers, achieving a remarkable quadruple in Thursday night’s match in Cairo. The Liverpool star’s tally now stands at 15 goals for the Pharaohs in the qualifying rounds.

After sitting out the previous edition in Qatar, the seven-time African champions signaled their ambitions from the outset as Salah initiated the scoring in the 17th minute.

He increased the lead five minutes later with a penalty before securing his hat-trick three minutes into the second half.

The former AS Roma striker capped off a spectacular performance with his fourth goal in the 69th minute.

Mostafa Mohamed and Trezeguet scored two additional goals in the last twenty minutes, contributing to a strong kickoff for the North Africans in the World Cup qualifiers.

Meanwhile, he holds the position of the second-highest goal-scorer in Egypt’s history, having netted 55 goals in 95 appearances, trailing behind Hossam Hassan, who leads with 68 goals.
