Morocco defeat Egypt to win Paris 2024 bronze

Morocco clinched the bronze medal in the Olympic men’s football tournament with a commanding 5-0 victory over Egypt in Nantes.

Following their 2-1 semi-final defeat to Spain, Tarik Sektioui’s team delivered their most impressive performance of the tournament to secure Morocco’s first Olympic football medal.

Abde Ezzalzouli and Soufiane Rahimi scored to give Morocco a 2-0 lead at halftime. Bilal El Khannouss added a third goal in the 51st minute, and Rahimi netted his second and eighth goal of the tournament shortly after.

Akram Nakach extended Morocco’s lead to 5-0 in the 73rd minute, and Achraf Hakimi completed the scoring with a superb free-kick three minutes from the end.

The gold-medal match will see hosts France take on Spain on Saturday at 17:00 BST.
