Jamal Musiala’s stunning strike secured Bayern Munich a 1-0 victory over St. Pauli, lifting them six points clear of RB Leipzig at the top of the Bundesliga.

The German international won the ball 30 yards from goal, took a touch, and unleashed a powerful shot off the crossbar after 22 minutes.

England captain Harry Kane had a quiet game and missed a chance, firing a shot over the bar from Serge Gnabry’s cutback.

Leon Goretzka also had a go from inside the box, while St. Pauli goalkeeper Nikola Vasilj reacted quickly to palm away a Leroy Sane shot that seemed destined for the bottom corner.

In the closing minutes, Musiala was through on goal again but saw his shot blocked, preventing him from adding a second.

Leipzig can reduce the gap to three points if they defeat Borussia Monchengladbach later on Saturday (17:30 GMT).
