Napoli agree fee with Man Utd for McTominay

Napoli have reached an agreement with Manchester United for the transfer of midfielder Scott McTominay, with a fee of approximately €30 million (£25.4 million) agreed upon.

However, personal terms are still under negotiation, and McTominay has yet to decide on the move to the Serie A club.

This marks the second consecutive year that Manchester United has shown a willingness to sell the academy graduate. Earlier in August, the club rejected a £20 million bid from Fulham for the Scotland international.

Last season, the 27-year-old McTominay declined an offer to join West Ham and went on to make 32 Premier League appearances for United, scoring seven goals. He also started in the FA Cup final victory against Manchester City.

This season, McTominay has been used as a substitute in both of United’s Premier League matches.

Manager Erik ten Hag is looking to further strengthen his squad and recognizes that McTominay’s status as a homegrown player offers more flexibility within the Premier League’s financial regulations.

United are also interested in Paris Saint-Germain’s Uruguayan midfielder Manuel Ugarte, but have so far been unable to reach an agreement with the French club.
