Napoli and Paris Saint-Germain have begun discussions to sign Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen after the player reportedly agreed to personal terms with the French giants.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Napoli is now willing to negotiate a lower amount than Osimhen’s €130 million release clause, as they struggle to meet his €10 million per season compensation agreed to in December.
According to multiple sources in France and Italy, Osimhen has agreed on fundamental personal terms with PSG, setting the way for intensified talks between the two teams.
While PSG are reportedly unwilling to meet Napoli’s €130 million valuation, they are considering an offer of €100 million plus players to secure the deal. Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is said to be open to discussing such an arrangement.
The potential transfer has gained momentum as Napoli looks to offload players before bringing in reinforcements for new coach Antonio Conte. The Serie A champions are eyeing Romelu Lukaku as a replacement for Osimhen but need to complete the Nigerian’s sale before making a move for the Chelsea striker.
Despite interest from Saudi Pro League club Al Ahli, Osimhen has remained focused on continuing his career in Europe.
Meanwhile, Osimhen continues to impress in pre-season training with Napoli, with Conte reportedly pleased by the striker’s attitude despite not featuring in his plans for the upcoming season.
