Italian football outfit, Napoli, have announced the departure of Carlo Ancelotti from the club, less than three hours after he guided them to the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League.

Napoli played Genk FC in Italy last night and defeated the Belgian side 4-0. But despite the win, the club has asked the former AC Milan coach to go.

Ancelotti had been having issues at the club lately, which have made him to lose control of the dressing room just as he experienced when he was the manager of a top German outfit, Bayern Munich.

His exit from Napoli has now sparked rumours that he may be returning to England to handle either Arsenal or Everton. Ancelotti had a spell at Chelsea, one of the London rivals of Arsenal, who are keen to have a new coach after sacking Unai Emery, who had a short stay at the North London club due to poor results.

The club is now being managed in the interim by a former player, Freddie Ljungberg. Several persons have been linked to the job at Arsenal, including Mikel Arteta, Patrick Viera amongst others.

On the part of Everton, it sacked Marco Silva this month after he failed to make fans and the owners happy this season due to poor results. Ancelotti is being heavily rumoured to be the next manager of the Merseyside outfit, which recorded a shock win over Chelsea at the weekend at Stamford Bridge, where the Italian once made his home.

For Napoli, it is rumoured that another former AC Milan player and coach, Gennaro Gattuso, will succeed Ancelotti at the club.
