NBBF unveils squad for Nigeria’s U19 women’s team ahead of FIBA championship

The Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) has announced the final roster for the national U19 women’s basketball team set to represent the country at the 2025 FIBA U-19 Women’s Basketball World Cup in Brno, Czech Republic.

The 12-player squad will be guided by a coaching crew comprising Faustina Akhere Juliana (Head Coach), Nyingifa Atonye (Associate Head Coach), and Usuwa Chinedu Stone (Assistant Coach).

The selected players include Jessica Ajayi, Pius Idubamo Beggi, Wandoo Marvis Hembam, Gbemisola Samuel, Toby Nweke, and Momoluwa Tewogbade. Others on the list are Nora Ezike, Francisca Chukwu, Olanrewaju Ayodeji, Abigail Isaac, Olaoluwa O. Victoria, and Favour Sampson.

Nigeria has been placed in Group B alongside Portugal, Canada, and China.

The tournament, featuring 16 participating nations, will take place from Saturday, July 12 to Sunday, July 20, 2025.
