Following a devastating defeat to Anthony Joshua in Saudi Arabia on Friday night, Francis Ngannou has issued an apology to his fans.

In the second round, the Cameroonian fighter suffered a knockout at the hands of the former world heavyweight champion.

Despite high expectations fueled by his remarkable boxing debut against Tyson Fury last year, Ngannou fell short against his more seasoned Nigerian-British adversary.

Joshua’s powerful right hand in the first round led to a knockdown from which Ngannou struggled to recover. Ultimately, a second-round knockout sealed the defeat for the 37-year-old fighter.

“Sorry guys I let you all down,” Ngannou wrote on his X account.

“Today was a bad day in the office but tomorrow will be another day. Thank you all for the love.”
