Team Nigeria has secured the gold medal in the women’s 4x100m relay at the 2026 CAA Senior Athletics Championships.

The Nigerian quartet of Chigozie Rosemary, Jennifer Chukwuka Obi, Rosemary Chukwuma, and Miracle Ezechukwu delivered a winning time of 42.94 seconds during Friday’s final at the University of Ghana Stadium in Accra.

Chukwuma, who claimed silver in the women’s 100m earlier in the competition, ran the third leg before 17-year-old Ezechukwu powered through the final stretch to seal victory for Nigeria.

Liberia finished second with a time of 43.05 seconds to take silver, while Ghana claimed bronze after clocking 44.85 seconds.

Nigeria has now remained undefeated in the women’s 4x100m relay at the African Championships since 2016, winning the title in four consecutive editions.

In the men’s 4x100m relay, Team Nigeria settled for silver after Côte d’Ivoire overtook them near the finish line. Ghana secured bronze in the event.

So far, Nigeria has recorded nine medals at the ongoing championships — three gold, four silver, and two bronze medals.

The competition began on May 12 and will conclude on Sunday.
