Club Brugge have signed Nigeria striker David Okereke on a four-year deal from Serie B side Spezia for a club record fee of €8m Sports Extra can report.

The 21-year-old becomes the third arrival at the club following the signings of Eduoard Sobol and Amadou Sagna according to a statement on Club Brugge’s official website and the most expensive signing ever for Club Brugge.

The Abuja Football College graduate who scored 10 goals and provided 12 assists in 33 Serie B games last season is expected to fill the big boots left vacant by his predecessor Wesley, who joined Aston Villa for a club-record €25m.

“This is an amazing place,” Okereke told the club’s official website after completing his move. I can’t wait to join my new teammates on Wednesday (today).”

The duo Daniel Amokachi and Joseph Akpala played for Club Brugge in the past.
