Nigerian chess master, Onakoya aims for 58-hour Guinness World Record marathon

Nigerian chess master Tunde Onakoya has revealed his intention to set a new Guinness World Record for the longest chess marathon, aiming to inspire millions of underprivileged children in Africa who lack access to education.

Onakoya made this announcement via a post on his X handle on Friday, stating his goal to play chess continuously for 58 hours without suffering a single defeat.

The marathon is slated to commence at 10 am on April 17 and conclude at 8 pm on April 19 in Times Square, New York City.

He wrote, “On the 17th of April 2024, I will attempt to break the Guiness World record for the longest chess marathon in the heart of Times Square, New York City, for 58 hours without losing a game.
