Nigerian and Real Sociedad striker, Umar Sadiq, has suffered an injury in his right knee, according to reports from his club.
The striker was taken off the field during a La Liga clash against Getafe.
The news from Spain is pointing towards the fact that Sadiq might miss the remainder of the season.
A statement on the club’s official website read, “He suffered a torsion in his right knee during the Getafe-RS match, held yesterday, 09-11-2022.
“The MRI done this morning shows a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament. It is a subsidiary lesion of surgical treatment. In the next few days, it will be reported.”
He walked off the pitch on his own after landing awkwardly after a dribble by an opponent.
Initial reports suggested it was a minor injury but Monday morning scans show that the striker would need surgery.
Sadiq joined Sociedad in August.
