Noah Lylesin sheds tears during award ceremony
The new world’s 100m champion Noah Lyles was joyous at the award ceremony with emotions on August 21, Monday evening.
Lyles ran a flawless race the day before to win the gold medal in the 100 meters. He stunned a star-studded field by clocking a world-leading time of 9.83 seconds.
He is now in the course to retain his 200m title. Before the championships, Lyles made a statement that he wants to break Usain Bolt’s long-standing record of 19.19.
He also said, “They said it couldn’t be done. That I wasn’t the one. But I thank God I am. Thank you to everyone who has been supporting me through this journey. Now let’s go break this record,” he said on his official Twitter page.
