Nottingham Forest question VAR official in Everton defeat

Nottingham Forest is deliberating its course of action in response to what they deem as “extremely poor” refereeing decisions during their 2-0 loss to Everton.

The club stated that they had previously alerted the Professional Game Match Officials Board (PGMOL) about their concern that the VAR may hold bias towards Luton, but no action was taken to replace him.

“Three extremely poor decisions – three penalties not given – which we simply cannot accept,” the club said on X.

“Our patience has been tested multiple times.”

While they didn’t explicitly identify the official, Stuart Attwell served as the video assistant referee.

Nottingham Forest posted their strongly worded message on the social media platform at 15:42 BST, approximately five minutes after the conclusion of the match at Goodison Park, where the club found themselves just one point above the relegation zone.

BBC Sport is reaching out to the PGMOL for their response.
