Nottingham Forest sign Portugal U20 striker on loan
Nottingham Forest has secured the services of Sporting Lisbon striker Rodrigo Ribeiro on a loan deal for the remainder of the season.
The agreement includes an option for Forest to make the 18-year-old’s transfer permanent.
While at Sporting, Ribeiro has participated in seven matches, six of which were in Portugal’s Primeira Liga, but he has yet to register a goal.
Ascending from the youth levels at Sporting, the Portugal Under-20 international, Rodrigo Ribeiro, marked his debut for the first team in a Champions League match against Manchester City in March 2022.
Notably, Ribeiro has netted 11 goals in 42 appearances for Sporting Lisbon’s B side in the third tier of Portuguese football.
His arrival at Nottingham Forest makes him the second signing under the management of Nuno Espirito Santo, following the loan acquisition of United States midfielder Giovanni Reyna from Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday. Ribeiro will be donning the number 37 shirt at the City Ground.
