The Super Falcons of Nigeria, nine-time African champions, are set to commence their training camp on Sunday in preparation for the final qualifying fixture for the women’s Olympic football tournament against South Africa’s Banyana Banyana. The match is scheduled to take place in Abuja on Friday.
Captain Rasheedat Ajibade will be among the first arrivals at the training camp, along with home-based goalkeeper Linda Jiwuaku and defender Jumoke Alani.
Young defender Shukurat Oladipo, veteran goalkeeper Tochukwu Oluehi, Japan-based Chidinma Okeke, and Spain-based forward Gift Monday are anticipated to join the camp early on Monday.
South Africa’s delegation, consisting of 24 players, is expected to arrive in Abuja on Monday evening.
The return leg of the game is scheduled for Tuesday, April 9th, 2024, in South Africa.
