Osimhen accused of punching journalist in Turkey
Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, currently playing for Galatasaray, has found himself at the center of controversy following an alleged altercation with a journalist in Turkey.
According to reports by Turkish media outlet Posta, the prolific forward allegedly assaulted a journalist outside an entertainment venue he visited with friends.
The incident reportedly unfolded when Osimhen, appearing irritated by the reporter’s presence, reacted aggressively.
Tolga Bozduman, the journalist involved, recounted the events leading to the altercation, shedding light on the contentious encounter.
“I was filming Osimhen as he exited, accompanied by three colleagues. When the camera flashes stopped, he became furious. He rushed towards me, shouting, and attempted to grab my camera. When I refused to let go, he punched me. It still hurts. Then he started swearing and said, ‘Destroy the photos, I’ll give you money.’ I refused, and he threatened me, saying, ‘I’ll destroy you.’”
Neither Galatasaray nor Osimhen has released an official statement addressing the incident.
Osimhen has been remarkable with Galatasaray with 15 goals and six assists already this season for the Turkish giants.
