Osimhen deal has January exit clause – Galatasaray
Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk has revealed that Victor Osimhen’s loan deal from Napoli includes a clause enabling the striker to join another interested club during the January transfer window.
Speaking at a press conference on Sunday, Buruk confirmed that the 25-year-old Super Eagles forward is committed to finishing the season with the Turkish side.
Osimhen’s future was a hot topic during the summer transfer window, with reports of potential moves to Al-Ahli and Chelsea falling through. He eventually joined Galatasaray on deadline day, securing a late move to the Turkish giants.
He said, ”Osimhen has the intention of staying here until the end of the season. He also wants to stay; he said the same thing at the beginning.
“There is a clause there, but it doesn’t matter; he said he will stay. There is a clause about transfers in January. This clause has different things.
“The important thing is the player. The player who decides. That’s why Osimhen says he will stay here. He said the same thing when he came.
“If the player wants to stay, Galatasaray will do whatever it takes to keep him, even if it means pushing the limits financially. While an immediate transfer seems unlikely, a move could happen at the end of the season,” he said.
Victor Osimhen has hit the ground running in Istanbul, delivering an impressive eight goals and four assists in just nine appearances across all competitions for Galatasaray.
