Super Eagles striker and Galatasaray standout, Victor Osimhen, has revealed plans to move into football club ownership, eyeing acquisitions in both the Turkish and Nigerian leagues.

The 27-year-old forward shared his intentions during a viral live stream with content creator Carter Efe, signaling a major step toward a long-term post-playing career business strategy. Osimhen confirmed that his main target is Istanbulspor, a historic club currently competing in Turkey’s second division (TFF First League).

As part of a strategy to strengthen Nigerian football, Osimhen outlined a dual-club approach. This involves setting up or acquiring a “branch” club in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) to serve as a scouting and development hub. The domestic team would create a direct pipeline for top Nigerian grassroots talent to move to Europe via Istanbulspor.

“I plan to buy Istanbulspor,” Osimhen said during the broadcast, underlining his ambition to give back to the sport that brought him international acclaim.

The venture is supported by significant financial backing. Having recently completed a permanent move to Galatasaray for around €75 million, Osimhen ranks among the world’s top earners in football.

Already known for extensive real estate investments in Nigeria and abroad, Osimhen’s move into Multi-Club Ownership (MCO) reflects a rising trend among elite players.

By leveraging his influence in Turkey—where he has become a cultural icon in the Süper Lig—and his Nigerian roots, Osimhen seeks to professionalize the development pathway for the next generation of African stars.

Analysts note that acquiring a Turkish second-division club provides a strategic entry into European football management, offering a platform for player transfers and continental exposure.
