Osimhen wanted to go to England, Galatasaray legend blames Napoli

Galatasaray legend Dževad Prekazi has claimed that Victor Osimhen was keen on a move to England during the last summer transfer window.

Prekazi, who criticized Napoli for blocking Osimhen’s potential Premier League transfer, expressed his surprise at the striker’s decision to join Turkish giants Galatasaray.

According to Prekazi, Osimhen had been targeting a move to the Premier League or a return to France’s Ligue 1 after deciding to leave Napoli.

However, Napoli’s high asking price made it difficult for clubs like Chelsea or Paris Saint-Germain to secure his signature.

“I couldn’t believe Osimhen, I couldn’t believe he would come to Galatasaray and that he did,” Prekazi told TRT Spor via Cumhuriyet.

“He wanted to go to England, the problem was in Napoli because the transfer was a lot of money.”

He added, “I don’t know how he came to Galatasaray. It is great, he will make a great contribution, it is obvious. Nobody can keep him.”
