Paris 2024 Qualifiers: Super Falcons edge past South Africa 1-0 in first leg clash

Rasheedat Ajibade’s penalty secured a 1-0 victory for the Super Falcons against South Africa, granting them an advantage heading into the second leg encounter.

Ajibade scored from the penalty spot in the 43rd minute of Friday’s game at the Moshood Abiola International Stadium in Abuja after Chinwendu Ihezuo was hauled down in the box.

Despite numerous unsuccessful opportunities for both teams to change the score, the Super Falcons maintained their lead throughout the second half.

On Tuesday, April 9, the Falcons will travel to Pretoria, South Africa for the second leg of the match, with a razor-thin 1-0 lead.

The ticket for the Olympics in Paris in 2024 will be chosen by the overall winner.
