Nigerian cyclist Ese Lovina Ukpeseraye has revealed how the German team gave her a bicycle to compete in the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Ukpeseraye made history by being Nigeria’s first Olympic cyclist. She entered the women’s road race but did not finish, hence she did not receive a score.
The 25-year-old then competed in the Keirin and Sprint cycling events, finishing sixth in the first round, and described how the German team offered her a bicycle for the competition.

βDue to the short notice of me competing at the keirin & Sprint, #teamNigeria I had no bicycle to race with on the tracks,β she wrote on X.
βIn the spirit of sportsmanship, the German team @bunddeutscherradfahr came to my rescue by offering me a bicycle. Thank youπππ.β
She will be competing in one more event on Friday.
