Former Super Eagles players Peter Rufai, Daniel Amokachi, Samson Siasia, Yakubu Aiyegbeni, and a host of their teammates will play against a chosen side in a novelty football match to kick off the non-profit organization Arise Women’s 2022 Arise Walk.
The match, which will take place on Friday, October 14, 2022, is planned to mark the launch of the 14th edition of Arise Women, according to a statement made available to reporters on Tuesday by the NGO. It will also include the Arise Walk, an empowerment program, a skills development program for underprivileged people, and the Arise Women Conference.
The theme of the conference is ‘Appointed to live.’
Founder, Arise Women, Siju Iluyomade, in the statement added that, ‘‘Arise Walk of this year will be preceded by a Novelty football Match between Ex-Super Eagles stars like Peter Rufai, Daniel Amokachi, Samson Siasia, Yakubu Aiyegbeni and host of their colleagues against a selected team.”
“The Arise Women Conference will hold on Saturday 29th of October, at the Trinity Towers, City of David, RCCG, Oniru, with prominent Nigerians in attendance to speak on varieties of issues especially as it concerns Women’s leadership, and empowerment among others.’’
She continued by saying that the yearly “Arise Walk for Life” health awareness campaign would take place all over the world and feature notable sports figures, celebrities, and entertainers, among others.
