Chippa United players and officials warmly greeted Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, celebrating his outstanding performance at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) with a hero’s welcome.
The Nigerian player participated in every match as the Super Eagles advanced to the final of the AFCON, experiencing their sole defeat against hosts Cote d’Ivoire.
Nwabali’s remarkable performance included saving two penalties in Nigeria’s victory over South Africa in the competition’s semi-final, earning him widespread acclaim.
Since the tournament’s conclusion, accolades have continued to be showered upon the player. Upon his return to his club side on Tuesday, Nwabali received a warm and enthusiastic welcome from both players and officials.
