Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has acknowledged that there is further potential for improvement in Nicolas Jackson’s performance, despite his hat-trick in the match against rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

Jackson took the spotlight in the tumultuous London derby held at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Monday night.

The match lived up to its anticipation, as the Blues overcame an early deficit to conclude Tottenham’s undefeated run in the Premier League.

Reports state that the match witnessed four goals being disallowed, with Tottenham ending up with only nine players due to red cards issued to Christian Romero and Iyenoma Udogie.

Dejan Kulusevski initiated the scoring for the home team in the sixth minute, and Cole Palmer leveled the score for Chelsea with a penalty in the 35th minute.

Jackson proceeded to score a hat-trick, providing the much-needed inspiration for the visiting team to secure an exhilarating away victory.

Pochettino, who made his return to Tottenham for the first time since his dismissal in 2019, has now conveyed a message to his star player following his hat-trick against his former club.

The Chelsea manager expressed his belief that the young talent’s three-goal performance could propel him to even greater achievements in the upcoming weeks.

“He is so young and came from Spain, different league and he needs to improve. I hope this hat-trick can allow him top play more relaxed and find the confidence he needs,” Poch said, as quoted by Metro UK.

“I am happy for him because we know that when strikers don’t score, they suffer. So that is for people to think. He is really young, arrived to the club this summer, and it’s not easy to play for Chelsea. It’s the history, about winning, lifting trophies,” he added.’
