Postecoglou the right man for Spurs – Kulusevski
Tottenham winger Dejan Kulusevski has voiced his support for manager Ange Postecoglou, affirming that the Australian is the “right man” to lead the club.
Kulusevski, 24, has been a standout performer for Spurs this season, contributing nine goals in 36 appearances.
Postecoglou has faced mounting criticism following a poor run of results that has left Tottenham languishing in 15th place in the Premier League. After a 2-1 loss to Leicester City on Sunday, the former Celtic manager admitted uncertainty about his future at the club.
Despite the league struggles, Postecoglou has emphasized the team’s potential to achieve “something special” this season, as Spurs are still competing in three cup tournaments: the FA Cup, Carabao Cup, and Europa League.
“I agree with him,” Kulusevski said. “I think we can do big things in these last four months.”
Asked why he considers Postecoglou the man for the job, Kulusevski said: “Because we had games where we showed perfect football and football not many teams can play in the world.
“We played beautiful against [Manchester] United, [Manchester] City away 4-0 and we’re behind him.”
Tottenham secured a commanding 3-0 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford in September, followed by a thrilling 4-3 win against the Red Devils in the EFL Cup in December.
Dejan Kulusevski believes such performances remain pivotal for manager Ange Postecoglou, expressing his support: “I have to fight for him because I believe in that football too. He is the right man.”
However, Spurs have struggled in recent weeks, winning just one of their last 11 Premier League games, which has left them eight points clear of the relegation zone.
Tottenham will face Swedish side IF Elfsborg in their final Europa League group-stage match on Thursday, with victory securing a spot in the knockout stages.
In a positive development, Postecoglou confirmed that centre-back Micky van de Ven is expected to return to action for the first time since early December, providing a much-needed boost to Tottenham’s defensive options.
