Premier League clubs approve changes to APT rules
Premier League clubs have approved changes to the regulations governing commercial deals.
During a meeting in London on Friday, the clubs took less than 30 minutes to approve the revisions to the Associated Party Transaction (APT) rules.
The vote saw 16 clubs in favor and 4 against. Manchester City and Aston Villa were among the clubs voting against the changes, having previously written to other clubs seeking support.
This decision follows an independent panel’s ruling earlier this year, which found certain aspects of the Premier League’s rules to be unlawful after Manchester City initiated a lawsuit.
