Premier League Table 2022-23: Results for matchday 10 as Manchester City go top

164

Manchester City moved top of the Premier League on Saturday with a routine 4-0 win over Southampton as Erling Haaland made it 15 goals in nine games.

Elsewhere, Graham Potter’s in-form Chelsea beat managerless Wolves 3-0 to continue their good form, Newcastle moved up to fifth with a big 5-1 win over Brentford and an increasingly impressive Bournemouth came from behind to beat Leicester.

The evening kick-off will see a Tottenham side starting to come under criticism travel to Brighton before Sunday’s heavyweight offering.

After Fulham’s short journey across the capital to play West Ham and Crystal Palace vs Leeds, Arsenal host Liverpool in a huge game. Should Mikel Arteta’s side win against their visitors, their title ambitions would surely have to be taken seriously.

Slightly unsually, Manchester United travel to Everton for a Sunday night kick-off before the gameweek is rounded off with Nottingham Forest against Aston Villa.
