Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) maintained their perfect start to the new Ligue 1 season by handing Lille their first defeat.

Both teams had won their opening two matches, and the game remained evenly contested in the early stages.

The breakthrough came in the 33rd minute when PSG forward Ousmane Dembele was fouled inside the box, and Vitinha converted the resulting penalty.

PSG doubled their lead just three minutes later when Bradley Barcola, assisted by Marco Asensio, scored his fourth goal in three games.

Lille managed to pull one back 12 minutes from the end as Edon Zhegrova fired a long-range shot into the bottom corner.

The hosts thought they had completed a dramatic comeback when Tiago Santos scored from close range, but the goal was ruled out for offside.

France forward Randal Kolo Muani then sealed the victory for PSG with a headed goal in stoppage time.
