Brahim Diaz shone as Real Madrid edged closer to clinching the La Liga title with a win over Cadiz.

The ex-Manchester City winger scored a brilliant goal, blasting into the top corner from just inside the penalty area in the 51st minute.

Diaz played a key role again, setting up Jude Bellingham who extended Real’s lead. Bellingham, who started off the bench, scored within three minutes of entering the match by slipping into the box and nudging the ball in from close range.

Joselu added a final touch with a simple tap-in during stoppage time after Nacho made a break into the box and laid off an easy pass for him to score.

Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois made his season debut after being sidelined for nine months due to a knee ligament injury.

With four games left, Real Madrid needs just one more point to secure the championship.

Should Barcelona fail to win against Girona later today (17:30 BST), Carlo Ancelotti’s team will be declared champions for the 36th time.

Attention now shifts to next Wednesday when Real Madrid hosts Bayern Munich in the second leg of their Champions League semi-final, which remains tightly contested.
