Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga has been ruled out with a hamstring injury sustained during the club’s 5-2 Copa del Rey victory over Celta Vigo, the club announced on Friday.

“Following tests carried out today on Eduardo Camavinga, he has been diagnosed with a muscle injury in his left hamstring. His recovery will be assessed,” the European champions said in a statement.

Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga has sustained another injury, compounding the challenges for the 22-year-old French international who had already missed the start of the season with a left knee problem.

This setback comes at a critical juncture for Los Blancos.

They currently sit 20th in the Champions League standings and are not yet assured of advancing to the knockout stages ahead of their crucial clash with Salzburg on Wednesday.

Domestically, Real Madrid are second in La Liga, trailing city rivals Atletico Madrid by a single point.

They are set to host Las Palmas this weekend as they aim to maintain pressure in the title race amidst growing concerns over squad depth due to injuries.
