Real Madrid could turn attention to Super Eagles and Napoli striker, Víctor Osimhen if it can’t sign Erling Haaland or Kylian Mbappe.
According to SPORT, Los Blancos could make a move for the Nigerian if they are unable to sign either of their two primary targets, Mbappe or Haaland, with president Florentino Perez considering a deal of €130 million (£112 million/$141 million).
Speaking on the future of Osimhen in recent weeks as links regarding a new deal continue to circulate, Napoli sporting director Mauro Meluso said: “We are working behind the scenes. There are lots of reports because obviously people have to talk, but we work in a reserved fashion and we will see in the next few weeks.”
Osimhen is currently on the verge of signing a new deal with reigning Serie A champion Napoli, which would extend his stay at the club until 2028. However, the new deal would likely include a release clause of €130m, which Carlo Ancelotti’s side would be willing to part ways with to sign the player. Madrid is eyeing a big money signing to bolster its attacking options as it heads into the 2024-25 season, to provide England international Jude Bellingham with further reinforcements.
