Real Madrid has been contending with a continuous surge of injuries since the beginning of the season.

In the previous season, the La Liga powerhouse encountered obstacles in their quest for the title due to numerous injuries, including those impacting former star Karim Benzema.

Regrettably, this pattern has extended into the current season, with both Thibaut Courtois and defender Eder Militao falling victim to injuries.

According to reports from Diario AS, the treatment room has recently accommodated midfielder Dani Ceballos and Vinicius Jr. However, the injury drawing the most attention from the club’s leadership is that of Turkish prospect Arda Guler. The 18-year-old, formerly associated with Fenerbahce, has been unable to make his debut for Los Blancos due to a series of Meniscus and thigh muscle injuries.

Originally slated to debut against Rayo Vallecano, Guler was listed as an unused substitute, and it was later disclosed that he had experienced a setback in his muscle injury.

The ongoing series of injuries seems to have frustrated the club’s top brass, with the situation surrounding Guler acting as the tipping point. Consequently, Real Madrid has opted to part ways with their head of medical affairs.

Dr. Niko Mihic, the ousted head of medical affairs, had been overseeing Guler’s case. According to Marca, discrepancies emerged between the Croatian doctor and other club staff regarding the appropriate management of Guler’s injuries. The tangible results indicated that Mihic’s approach was not optimal.

Prior to joining Real Madrid in 2017, Mihic had a professional history with the HM Group in Madrid and Montreal, overseeing the Illness Prevention Units. Furthermore, he conducted medical lectures at San Pablo University and held the role of Medical Assessor for Air France and KLM.
